Anonymous, that was a mean spirited comment. Jewelry as an investment? Like the type that will fund my retirement? Probably not. It is an investment in ME. Wearing lovely jewelry makes me feel pretty. It makes me stand up a little straighter. The Lee Ohio pieces I own are beautiful...and when I wear them I feel beautiful too. And that makes them priceless.

Lee Ohio pieces also hold a sentimental value for me...my son attends the college that Ms. Hallsey did. I hope that someday someone somewhere will value what he creates. When I wear a Lee Ohio piece, I feel like I am carrying a piece of Savannah with me and that makes me feel closer to my son.

Oh and by the the way, from my experience the staff at Chanel is quite rude. I'd try Valentino or Hermès. They are fantastic.

Dear Anonymous,

It must be a small and lonely place in which you live. And I think about the time it takes to go out of one's way to leave an 'anonymous' comment about someone else's art and lively hood, and it does sadden me a bit. This is, of course, instead of contacting me directly in one of the other many ways available, If what you had to say was really that important as I welcome constructive criticism. But clearly, this wasn't the case. I moderate my blog comments and I didn't have to publish your ill-conceived 'thought burst,' but I did because I don't think that you should remain anonymous. And in some ways, now you haven't.

You can't teach to the unwilling, but I am going to try. Art in general, and fashion in particular, is of course subjective and tastes are individual. This means of course, that not everyone has to like what I create.
However, etiquette and politeness I believe to be without season and they never go out of fashion.
